Delivery details

How long does delivery take?

Your order will be despatched from our distribution centres within seven working days from receipt of your order. For orders placed outside of Europe and North America please allow 14-28 days for delivery.

Orders are distributed by NBN International (see below for details). Their details will appear on your receipt and credit card statements.

What happens if my order is not yet available?

In cases where some of your chosen books are immediately available and some have to be shipped later, there will be NO extra shipping charge. We will only charge your payment card for these books when they are available for despatch.

What if I’m not satisfied with my purchase?

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase you must notify us within seven working days of the day after the item is delivered (excluding digital items). You must then return the book(s) to NBN International (see below for details) with a covering letter within 30 days of receipt and we will replace them or give a full refund.

We will not refund the cost of your expenditure in returning the item to us and other services provided to you in connection with your purchase unless you return the item to us because of an error on our part or because it is defective. 

Refunds will be made using the method by which your order was paid. Credit/debit card refunds will be processed on the day of request, although it may take 3-5 working days for this to appear on your statement. Refunds by cheque will take longer to process.

Does the delivery note include price information?

Every order generates a receipt or invoice and depending on the invoice/despatch details one of the following would happen:

  • If the invoice and despatch address is the same the invoice goes in the parcel with the goods
  •  If the invoice and despatch address is different, only the packing note goes in with the goods and the invoice is sent separately in the post

Can I choose a delivery address that is different to the billing address?

Yes you can. Billing and delivery address details are requested separately during the ordering process via the Hosted Checkout.

How much do I pay for postage and packing (P&P)?

Postage and packing charges will be confirmed at the point of transaction.

For UK, Europe or USA orders, BCS members using their BCS membership discount and other customers using the pre-publication discount (or another appropriate discount code) will receive free P&P.

Otherwise, customers in the UK will usually be charged £4.00 for the first print book, then £1 per subsequent print title up to maximum of £10.00. For customers in Europe, USA or the Rest of the World charges depend on the weight / final destination and a quote can be obtained from NBNI customer services to this end.

Prices will be charged in your chosen currency at current exchange rates and added to your basket prior to final order confirmation.

If I return any orders, do you refund the postage costs?

Where you have received an order due to an error on our part or the order is damaged or defective, we will refund the cost of your expenditure in returning the item to us and other services provided to you in connection with your purchase. Otherwise, you are responsible for any costs for returning the item(s) to us.
