How do I place an order?
Individuals can order our publications securely online using this website. We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, Maestro and AMEX. Alternatively you can order by credit card over the phone. Please call +44 (0)1793 417440.

Orders are distributed by Turpin Distribution Services. There details will appear on your receipt and credit card statements.
What is the cost for postage and packaging?
Online Bookshop customers in Europe and North America will receive P&P free of charge.
For customers in the Rest of the World, P&P is charged at £16 for the first book and £2 for each subsequent book. This will be converted to your preferred currency at current exchange rates and added to your basket prior to final order confirmation.
We have distributors in other areas of the world. If you would prefer to purchase locally, please contact your local distributor.
Can I pay using a different currency?
You are able to select an alternative currency and pay in Euros, UK pounds sterling or US dollars.
When do you take the payment from my credit/debit card?
You will be charged for your order when the item(s) are ready for despatch.
Can I arrange to pay later?
When you order a book in advance of publication (pre-order) you will only be charged when it becomes available for despatch to you. Otherwise, all payments will be taken when your order is ready to send to you. We do not offer a payment on receipt or advance invoice service for individual customers.
How can I get a receipt?
Your order generates a receipt or invoice which is sent to the billing details provided when placing your order.
Can I buy your books from a bookshop?
Our books are made available to all high street bookshops. If the title you are looking for is not held in stock, they will be able to order this for you or you can order online at the BCS Bookshop or by calling us on +44 (0) 1793 417440.
Can I order a book that’s not in the Bookshop?
No. You can pre-order forthcoming titles only when they appear in the Bookshop. If the BCS book you require is not listed please contact our Customer Service team using our online form at www.bcs.org/contactus or call +44 (0) 1793 417440.
What if the order does not arrive?
Please contact our Customer Service team using our online form at www.bcs.org/contactus or call +44 (0) 1793 417440 and we will check the status of your order. If necessary a replacement order will be arranged to be despatched to you.
Why has only part of my order arrived?
If you have ordered an item that is not currently in stock or is not yet available, we will only despatch the part of your order that is available. The remainder of your order will be sent to you separately without any additional shipping costs to you. You will only be charged for items that are despatched.
My order has arrived damaged, what can I do?
You must notify us of damaged orders within seven working days of the day after the item is delivered (excluding digital items). Please contact our Customer Service team using our online form at www.bcs.org/contactus or call +44 (0) 1793 417440 as a matter of priority. We will investigate the matter and ask you to return the damaged order to Turpin Distribution Centre with a covering letter within 30 days. We will arrange a replacement order at no cost to you and with a full refund of any incurred postage costs.
How do I cancel an order?
If you are a UK consumer and have not legally accepted the goods or service, you have the right to cancel your order under The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To cancel your order and obtain a full refund you must contact us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call +44 (0) 1767 604959 within fourteen days of this notice.
If your order has already been despatched, please contact us to let us know you wish to cancel your order within the fourteen day period. When you receive the order, please package the item securely and send it to us within 30 days of receipt.
You must include the original delivery note with your returned item(s). We recommend for your protection that you use a recorded delivery service if the value of the item(s) is more than 50 GBP. Unless the item was delivered to you in error or the item is damaged, you will be responsible for returning the items to us.

If I don’t like the book, can I send it back?
By law, customers in the European Union have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within seven working days of the day after the item is delivered. This applies to all our products except for digital items (e.g. eBooks).
