Ordering


How do I place an order?

Individuals can order our publications securely online using using our Hosted Checkout, provided by our distributors, NBN International. Terms and Conditions of sale are available here: https://www.nbninternational.com/checkout/Content/docs/Terms_and_Conditions.pdf

NBN International’s details will appear on your receipt and credit card statements.
 

What is the cost for postage and packaging?

Postage and packing charges will be confirmed at the point of transaction.

For UK, Europe or USA orders, BCS members using their BCS membership discount and other customers using the pre-publication discount (or another appropriate discount code) will receive free P&P.

Otherwise, customers in the UK will usually be charged £4.00 for the first print book, then £1 per subsequent print title up to maximum of £10.00. For customers in Europe, USA or the Rest of the World charges depend on the weight / final destination and a quote can be obtained from NBNI customer services to this end.

Prices will be charged in your chosen currency at current exchange rates and added to your basket prior to final order confirmation.
 

Can I pay using a different currency?

If you wish to pay in an alternative currency to UK pounds sterling (e.g. Euros or US dollars), please contact the NBN International Customer Service team by email on cservs@nbninternational.com or call +44 (0)1752 202301.
 

When do you take the payment from my credit/debit card?

You will be charged for your order when the item(s) are ready for despatch.
 

Can I arrange to pay later?

When you order a book in advance of publication (pre-order) you will only be charged when it becomes available for despatch to you. Otherwise, all payments will be taken when your order is ready to send to you. We do not offer a payment on receipt or advance invoice service for individual customers.
 

How can I get a receipt?

Your order generates a receipt or invoice which is sent to the billing details provided when placing your order.


Can I buy your books from a bookshop? 

Our books are made available to all high street bookshops and major online retailers. If the title you are looking for is not held in stock, they will be able to order this for you.


Can I order a book that’s not in the Bookshop? 

No. You can pre-order forthcoming titles only when they appear in the Bookshop. If the BCS book you require is not listed please contact the NBN International Customer Service team by email on cservs@nbninternational.com or call +44 (0)1752 202301.


What if the order does not arrive?

Please contact the NBN International Customer Service team by email on cservs@nbninternational.com or call +44 (0)1752 202301 and they will check the status of your order. If necessary, a replacement order will be arranged to be despatched to you.


Why has only part of my order arrived? 

If you have ordered an item that is not currently in stock or is not yet available, we will only despatch the part of your order that is available. The remainder of your order will be sent to you separately without any additional shipping costs to you. You will only be charged for items that are despatched.


My order has arrived damaged, what can I do?

You must notify us of damaged orders within seven working days of the day after the item is delivered (excluding digital items). Please contact the NBN International Customer Service team by email on cservs@nbninternational.com or call +44 (0)1752 202301 as a matter of priority.

We will investigate the matter and ask you to return the damaged order to NBN International with a covering letter within 30 days of receipt. We will arrange a replacement order at no cost to you and with a full refund of any incurred postage costs.
 


How do I cancel an order?

If you are a UK consumer and have not legally accepted the goods, you have the right to cancel your order under The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To cancel your order and obtain a full refund you must contact the NBN International Customer Service team by email on cservs@nbninternational.com or call +44 (0)1752 202301 within fourteen days of your purchase.

If your order has already been dispatched, please contact us to let us know you wish to cancel your order within the fourteen day period. When you receive the order, please package the item securely and send it to us within 30 days of receipt.

You must include the original delivery note with your returned item(s). We recommend for your protection that you use a recorded delivery service if the value of the item(s) is more than 50 GBP. Unless the item was delivered to you in error or the item is damaged, you will be responsible for returning the items to us.
 

How can I change my order?

If I don’t like the book, can I send it back?

By law, customers in the European Union have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within seven working days of the day after the item is delivered. This applies to all our products except for digital items (e.g. eBooks).
